Flame Lamination

Used with open cell foams, flame lamination allows for different products to be laminated extremely quickly with a strong bond. Our natural gas fueled machines fuse layers of materials together using a direct flame on the foam for a 100% surface bond. The foam passes through the flame to melt the foam's surface. Immediately after the foam passes through the flame, another layer, such as a facing, is threaded on top of the melted foam. This process uses pressure rollers that laminates the two materials together. The molten surface of the foam acts as an adhesive to form a durable bond.
